A Practical 3-day Workshop on Electronic Document and Records Management

Day One
On Day One, participants will explore the strategic importance of records digitisation through the NSSF Uganda case study and real-world business insights. They will gain practical knowledge on the value addition of digitisation, learn from real experiences in records management, and be introduced to EDRM systems, covering key features, benefits, challenges, and compliance essentials. The day will close with strategies for optimising the records lifecycle to drive operational excellence.
Day Two
On Day Two, participants will dive into the fundamentals of metadata and classification, learning how to boost records management efficiency through effective taxonomies and schemes, followed by a practical session on building a classification framework. They will explore the role of automation in EDRM, streamlining workflows, enhancing classification, and improving retrieval processes. The sessions will also focus on security and access control, highlighting best practices for protecting data integrity and enabling role-based access management. Participants will gain insights into IT requirements for a successful EDRMS, address integration and interoperability challenges, and discover the latest trends shaping the future of records management, from data analytics to virtual tools and emerging innovations.


Day Three
Participants will visit the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to see firsthand how EDRMS drives operational efficiency and digital transformation. Through live demonstrations, site tours, and expert interactions, you'll witness the full records management lifecycle in action, from digitisation to secure archiving, and gain practical insights to apply within your organisations.
