Contributions

The NSSF covers all employers who have 5 or more employees between 16 and 55 years of age, with the exception of employees under the Government Pensions Act. The NSSF Act requires a registered employer is required to pay contributions to the Fund for his\her employees every month during which he/she pays salaries.

The NSSF Act also provides for voluntary membership for employers with less than 5 employees.

Investment

NSSF collects members' contributions and invests them judiciously, and pays commensurate benefits to qualifying members. The money collected is maintained on individual member accounts, invested and earns an annual interest depending on our return on investments.

NSSF's Investment Policy provides for clear guidelines on investments. The Board and Management are mandated by the NSSF Act to invest the money on behalf of the NSSF members. Currently, NSSF has various investment interests in real estate, equities, and fixed income. The benefit for the member is that the member is assured of secure retirement.

Thousands grace the 3rd NSSF K’la Hash 7 Hills Run to raise funds for Kampala public Schools

KAMPALA March 25, 2018:- Thousands of runners braved the morning drizzle to grace the 3rd edition of the NSSF Kampala Hash 7 Hills Run that took place on March 25, 2017 at Pearl of Africa Primary School, Nsambya.

 

The run is organized by NSSF, together with Kampala Capital City Authority and Kampala Hash House Harriers. It covers a distance of 21km, traversing the historical seven hills of Kampala - Nakasero, Kibuli, Old Kampala, Namirembe, Rubaga, Lubiri and Nsambya.

 

NSSF Managing Director Richard Byarugaba thanked partners for supporting the event, aimed at raising funds to refurbish public primary schools in under the stewardship of the KCCA.

 

“For many public primary schools in Kampala, the learning environment is not conducive for the children. Through this initiative, which is part of the Fund’s Corporate Social Responsibility agenda to support education of the underprivileged in our society, we have raised funds to support KCCA efforts to provide a quality learning environment for thousands of children. I would like to thank partners for joining us for great cause”, Byarugaba said.

 

Citi Bank emerged winners of the Corporate Category, narrowly beating Vision Group, whose CEO, Robert Kabushenga emerged among the top runners.
