Contributions

The NSSF covers all employers who have 5 or more employees between 16 and 55 years of age, with the exception of employees under the Government Pensions Act. The NSSF Act requires a registered employer is required to pay contributions to the Fund for his\her employees every month during which he/she pays salaries.

The NSSF Act also provides for voluntary membership for employers with less than 5 employees.

Investment

NSSF collects members' contributions and invests them judiciously, and pays commensurate benefits to qualifying members. The money collected is maintained on individual member accounts, invested and earns an annual interest depending on our return on investments.

NSSF's Investment Policy provides for clear guidelines on investments. The Board and Management are mandated by the NSSF Act to invest the money on behalf of the NSSF members. Currently, NSSF has various investment interests in real estate, equities, and fixed income. The benefit for the member is that the member is assured of secure retirement.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT AND MARKETING (BRANDING, MARKETING & SALES) CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR LUBOWA HOUSING PROJECT (LHP) – PHASE 1

                                        

1. The National Social Security Fund (NSSF), the Fund, has allocated funds to be used for the acquisition of an Estate Management and Marketing Consultant for the Lubowa Housing Project – Phase 1. The LHP is conceptualised to be a self-sustaining satellite city with mixed-use housing and commercial developments on approximately 565 acres in Wakiso District. The project is intended as a phased development with construction starting with an initial phase of 325 housing units during the 1-2 years. The entire project comprises 10 Phases. The house designs comprise ten different house types consisting of apartments, town houses, bungalows, villas, both individual and gated communities.

 

2. Eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) are now invited to submit their expression of interest in providing the services of Real Estate Management and Marketing of the LHP-Phase 1. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services.

 

3. The short-listing criteria shall be as follows;

 

a) Documents evidencing eligibility of the consultancy firm shall include: a valid trading license or its equivalent for 2018, certificate of registration or its equivalent, NSSF clearance certificate for the month of February 2018 for local firms, annual tax clearance certificate for 2016/17 OR Transactional tax clearance certificate addressed to NSSF.

 

b) Powers of Attorney for the Authorised Representative which should Name, title, telephone and email address of the individual(s).

 

c) Company Profile – information concerning the firm’s major activities.

 

d) Demonstrate the minimum general experience of 10 years in the fields of Branding, Marketing and Sales. The firm should provide evidence that they have the general experience as well as specific experience in either Branding, Marketing or Sales, or any combination or the three, of at least 2 similar large scale housing development project in scope and magnitude.

 

4. Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture to enhance their qualifications. The partners should submit JV agreements indicating the lead partner. All parties to the JV must submit the requirements in 3(a, b, c) above including authorised representative with Powers of Attorney for the JV.

 

5. Interested eligible consultants may obtain further information at the address given below from 9.00am to 4.00pm (Local time).
