Contributions

The NSSF covers all employers who have 5 or more employees between 16 and 55 years of age, with the exception of employees under the Government Pensions Act. The NSSF Act requires a registered employer is required to pay contributions to the Fund for his\her employees every month during which he/she pays salaries.

The NSSF Act also provides for voluntary membership for employers with less than 5 employees.

Investment

NSSF collects members' contributions and invests them judiciously, and pays commensurate benefits to qualifying members. The money collected is maintained on individual member accounts, invested and earns an annual interest depending on our return on investments.

NSSF's Investment Policy provides for clear guidelines on investments. The Board and Management are mandated by the NSSF Act to invest the money on behalf of the NSSF members. Currently, NSSF has various investment interests in real estate, equities, and fixed income. The benefit for the member is that the member is assured of secure retirement.

JOB TITLE:            PROCUREMENT DATA ANALYST (1 POSITION) 

REPORTS TO:      TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT MANAGER DEPARTMENT:     PROCUREMENT & DISPOSAL UNIT

DUTY STATION:    KAMPALA, WORKERS HOUSE

 

MAIN PURPOSE:

 

The jobholder will be responsible for gathering procurement data, examining and transforming it into useful patterns, correlations, models and trends using statistical techniques to support decision-making.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Captures data from various sources, examines it and prepares tables and visuals to produce procurement reports
  • Identifies, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Works with managers to prioritize business and information needs
  • Supports initiatives for data integrity and normalization
  • Maintains relevant internal procurement databases and files
  • Identifies and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Assists in market price surveys and generates reports based on the collected data
  • Develops appropriate tools for monitoring internal performance, contracts management and procurement plan.
  • Produce reports on procurement transactions based on MI and E-procurement system.
  • Prepare the solicitation documents, evaluation reports for works, goods and services;
  • Recommend to the Contracts Committee appropriate procurement methods, Evaluation Committee and award decisions.
  • Assists end users in application of E- Procurement system Ø Prepares and maintains procurement records and reports.
  • Maintains an archive of procurement records for future references

 

 Education Requirements:

  • The applicant must have a University Degree in either Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Finance from a recognized University.
  • Postgraduate qualification in procurement is an added advantage.

 

 

 

Related Job Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in the procurement function in a busy public institution.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyses large datasets
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literate able to use of Microsoft office applications (MS Excel, Power BI,STATA, SPSS,

MS Word, Power point) and other data analytics applications

  • Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Innovative and with analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • High level of integrity
