The NSSF covers all employers who have 5 or more employees between 16 and 55 years of age, with the exception of employees under the Government Pensions Act. The NSSF Act requires a registered employer is required to pay contributions to the Fund for his\her employees every month during which he/she pays salaries.

The NSSF Act also provides for voluntary membership for employers with less than 5 employees.

NSSF collects members' contributions and invests them judiciously, and pays commensurate benefits to qualifying members. The money collected is maintained on individual member accounts, invested and earns an annual interest depending on our return on investments.

NSSF's Investment Policy provides for clear guidelines on investments. The Board and Management are mandated by the NSSF Act to invest the money on behalf of the NSSF members. Currently, NSSF has various investment interests in real estate, equities, and fixed income. The benefit for the member is that the member is assured of secure retirement.

Careers at NSSF

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is a Povident Fund mandated to provide social security to its members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws of Uganda) through efficient management of members' contributions.

The NSSF asset base is currently over Ugx. 9.8  trillion, making the Fund one of the largest players in Uganda's economy.

Main Purpose

The job holder will be responsible for driving fund cars, transporting staff and property and to provide logistical support in delivery of welfare services where need arises.


Duties and Responsibilities include:


> Transport fund staff parcels, mails and other assets to approved destinations


> Ensure the security and safety of fund cars and accessories


> Account for allocated fuel


> Ensure log books are accurately filled in.


> To make sure vehicles are washed and clean and early reporting of faults and repairs


> Carryout service in the set mileage.


> Physical inspection of vehicles and ensure vehicles are in good mechanical condition.


> Follow up motor vehicle maintenance schedules.


> Establish liaisons with fund motor vehicle maintenance providers and other public partners e.g. police, URA, Insurance.


> Carry field rescues and accident site salvage and gather accident related information 70%


> Inspect and report faulty office equipment


> Supervise office cleanliness


> Supervise the provision of staff welfare services (tea and drinking water) to staff at the Head Office.


> Make routine and ad hoc reports to supervisors



Education Requirements:

> At least UCE.


> Valid driver’s Permit


Related Job Experience:

> A minimum of 3 years’ driving experience in a busy corporate organization, with a branch network.


> Should be licensed with CM class and able to drive minibuses.


Skills and Abilities

> Excellent driving skills.


> Good communication skills


> Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.


> Excellent coordination and organizational skills.


> High degree of integrity and confidentiality.


> Ability to work under pressure.


> Computer skills (For example Word, excel)


> Report writing skills

> Team work skills


> Report writing skills


Note: The candidate should be willing to work in any branch of National Social Security Fund
