NSSF has extended support to the Dental Camp organised by Rotary Club of Kampala North and the Ministry of Health at Mulago Dental School.
The Fund gave a donation of UGX 5 million as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the area of health.
The dental camp running from 5th December to 10th December 2011 at the dental school, Mulago hospital, is targeting 1,500 patients from Kampala and the surrounding areas.
A team of 12 doctors and nurses are on hand to examine, treat and sensitise the patients.
NSSF Deputy Managing Director Geraldine Ssali said that the Fund asked Rotary Club of Kampala North to identify a project which we could support with the donation.
“Rotary identified the annual Dental Camp and we thought it is a brilliant idea to extend such services to the community.
NSSF will continue to support these kinds of community interventions as part of our CSR activities. We hope to continue this partnership with Rotary in future,” she said.
Club President Godfrey Jjooga extended his appreciation to NSSF for the support to this year’s dental camp. “We hope that with support from NSSF, we can hold the dental camp every year.
There is a great need for dental treatment and surgery in our communities,” he said.
Ssali added that NSSF had identified Rotary as a credible partner that undertakes various community projects.
