Ms. Geraldine Ssali has been appointed the Deputy Managing Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic development, Hon. Syda Bumba made the appointment in accordance with section 39 of the National Social Security Fund Act.
Ms. Ssali emerged as the best candidate for the position that was advertised in October last year. A total of 34 people applied for the job, according to a statement by the NSSF Board Chairman, Mr. Vincent B. Ssekkono.
She is professionally qualified for the job and brings to the Fund a wealth of experience in financial management at international level.
Ms. Ssali has been working as the Head of the Directorate Management Unit (DMU) in the Ministry of Finance/ Her Majesty’s Treasury in the United Kingdom.
She has also held senior management positions in the United Kingdom.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Economics and Statistics from Makerere University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester (UK).

- A qualified Accountant, she holds an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Currently heads the Directorate Management Unit – Her Majesty’s Treasury (Ministry of Finance, United Kingdom)
- She formerly worked as the Commercial Services Manager – Transport for London and a Finance Manager – Pre-School learning Alliance (UK).
- She has held several other positions in a number of organisations in the UK
