Five beneficiaries received more than UGX 100 million, while the biggest amount paid was UGX 175.3 million. This represents a continuous increment in the amount of money paid out every month, an average of UGX 5.5 billion since last year.
In the last Financial Year 2009/2010, the Fund paid over UGX 66 billion to over 11,000, records from the Fund as at end of June 2010 show.
This represents an average of over UGX 5.5 billion paid by the Fund every month, further attesting to continued improvements in benefits processing and payment and general service delivery.
Claim handling time as also improved, reducing from an average of 84 to 28 working days. The Fund is on target to achieve its target of processing benefits within an average of 2 weeks by the end of year 2012, according to the Corporate Strategic Plan (2007–2012).
